Arkki starts to provide creative education for children in Hungary

We are happy to announce that the Arkki´s long-term program will now be available for children and youth in Hungary. The first taste of Arkki in Hungary will be a workshop “Tailor Your City” in Budapest on the 29th of April, 2023. The workshop will take place in KÉK, the Center for Contemporary Architecture as part of the ArchiKids Festival. The long-rem program will be available in September.

Arkki programs for children and youth are now available in 10 countries, and have impacted 40.000+ children through long-term programs, courses, workshops, or projects around the world.

“We are so excited to bring Arkki creative education ecosystem into Hungary as the local partner. We are proud to provide an opportunity to support our children to develop their 21st-century skills with Arkki education programs. Architecture and design education cultivates creative thinking and complex problem-solving capabilities which are instrumental for every discipline and occupation in the modern world. We believe this collaboration will help us foster these capabilities in the young generation which will shape the future of Hungary.“  says architect Zsuzsanna Eszter Mikó, Co-Founder of Arkki Hungary.

Arkki has been recognized internationally multiple times. Arkki has been selected as a finalist for the WISE 2020 Awards for its impactful and innovative approach to education,  won UNICEF CFCI2019 Inspire Award in the category “Meaningful Child Participation”. In 2020 the Arkki program was selected by The LEGO Foundation and Global non-profit HundrED as one of the 20 leading innovations in the world fostering creativity in education.

“Arkki´s Play-Create-Succeed -method offers a fun way to develop creativity and innovation skills which are important for everyone, not only for creative professionals. Creative thinking and complex problem-solving skills can be refined, but like any other skill, they need practice. We are so excited to provide Arkki´s cross-disciplinary after-school program in Hungary, and to enable children and youth to engage in creative processes, supporting them in becoming future innovators, no matter what their occupation will be.” says Pihla Meskanen, CEO of Arkki International.
